Founded in 1877, American Humane is the nation's oldest organization dedicated to both child and animal protection.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), with more than a million members and supporters, is the largest animal rights organization in the world. Founded in 1980, PETA is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals.
