Dear
friends,
If
you would like to help save animal's lives
in
Clallam
County
, PLEASE:
Contact Our
State Legislators to Support Spay/Neuter Bill
5329/1406. Passage of this Bill would not
only reduce
the euthanasia of homeless animals, but would
help our community as well. It would
save taxpayers money by reducing the number of
animals handled by animal control and animal
welfare agencies. Our community would also
be safer, as there would be fewer dog bites and
less spread of disease

RE: PLEASE SUPPORT SENATE BILL 5329/HOUSE BILL 1406
Dear Senator Hargrove and Representatives, Lynne Kessler
and Kevin Van de Wege:
As a constituent of Legislative District 24, I ask you, as
my representative, to support Senate Bill
5329/House Bill 1406.
Clallam
County
has a serious pet overpopulation problem. In 2008, approximately 3,000
animals were taken in by local animal welfare
organizations in our county.
Nearly 1,000
dogs, cats, puppies, kittens and free-roaming
cats were euthanized all due to homelessness.
Please support this Bill and help us
reduce the number of unnecessary deaths of our
community’s animals.
Thank
you for your support. Passage of this Bill
could make a big difference to the
animals in our community. See below for
more information.

Companion Animal Spay/Neuter Assistance:
Senate Bill 5329 and
House Bill 1406
SB 5329 and HB 1406 would help fund 70,000 or more
spay/neuter surgeries each
year on cats and dogs
belonging to low-income
residents of our state, and on
feral and free-roaming cats.
To the extent funds are
available, it would also
support the costs of
spay/neuter surgeries on cats
and dogs in the possession of
animal shelters, animal care
and control agencies, and
other animal welfare
organizations.
The
bill does not make
spay/neuter surgery mandatory.
